Navigational Bouy Info
2001 a permit was granted by the Maine Department of Conservation to mark the many hazards that exist on Lake Winnecook.
At the onset a survey was conducted to identify many of these areas and subsequently place navigational buoys to mark hazards .
Currently there are 45 buoys throughout the lake. While there is no guarentee that all areas have been identified to mark, it certainly has made the lake a little safer with their placement.

Please be aware of the differant types of buoys that exist on Lake Winnecook and the significant meaning for each type of buoys.
